Dr. Jacy Holmes, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Clinical Neuropsychologist
Denver, CO
Hi! My name is Dr. Jacy Holmes. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist, having completed a formal two-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology. My passion lies in providing comprehensive assessments for individuals with brain injuries, neurodegenerative diseases, neurodevelopmental disabilities, and various psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and personality disturbances. My doctorate was obtained from a university committed to social justice, which deeply influences my advocacy for marginalized communities (something I actively engage in during my free time).
With diverse experience across nursing homes, inpatient facilities, community mental health, and private practice, I've built a robust understanding of this field. Initially focused solely on delivering accurate diagnoses, I've since developed a deep appreciation for the stories behind my clients' journeys. It's a privilege to offer answers that guide people toward a better quality of life. My approach is collaborative: you are the expert on your own experiences, and I bring my knowledge, background, and research to our partnership to provide the best possible recommendations. Known for my warm and humorous demeanor, I strive to make you feel comfortable and heard throughout the process.
In addition to neuropsychological and psychological assessment, I have substantial forensic evaluation experience across both secure inpatient hospital and private-practice settings. In a forensic inpatient hospital, I routinely conducted court-ordered competency-to-proceed evaluations and sanity evaluations involving pleas of not guilty by reason of insanity (NGRI). My private-practice work has included these and other forensic referral questions, and I have been subpoenaed to provide expert testimony in an NGRI case. These experiences have strengthened my ability to integrate records, clinical interviews, test findings, and relevant legal standards into clear, carefully supported forensic opinions.

The Philosophy of Assessment
A diagnosis is not a label; it is a key to understanding. Whether you are navigating concerns about your memory, seeking clarity on a learning profile, or unravelling complex attention issues, accurate assessment is the foundation of effective intervention.
We approach every evaluation as a unique puzzle. Our practice relies on gold-standard measures and clinical expertise, interpreting data through a deeply human lens.
"The goal is not merely to identify what is wrong, but to illuminate what is possible."
What to Expect
Referral & Intake
Initial contact via our office to determine if our services align with your needs.
Assessment Sessions
Your first session opens with a 60-minute clinical interview to gather detailed history, define the referral questions, and tailor the testing battery to you. Testing follows directly — typically 3 to 5 hours total across one or two in-person visits, using standardized measures of cognition, memory, and emotional functioning.
Scoring & Interpretation
The clinician thoroughly analyzes all data, integrating findings with clinical history to formulate a diagnostic picture.
Feedback & Written Report
A dedicated session to review results in plain language, accompanied by a comprehensive written report with actionable recommendations.
Follow-Up Support
A diagnosis is a beginning, not an endpoint. A follow-up appointment is available to revisit your results, answer questions that surface after the initial feedback, and ensure you feel grounded in what comes next.
