Letters of Support for Gender-Affirming Treatment
I also provide affirming consultations and letters of support for gender-affirming medical and surgical treatment. My approach aligns with WPATH Standards of Care, Version 8 (SOC8), and centers your identity, autonomy, informed consent, and treatment goals.
Consultations include a clinical interview, review of relevant history and support needs, and discussion of your provider’s documentation requirements. Letters are provided when clinically appropriate; requirements vary by treatment team and insurer.
What is a letter of support, and when might you need one?Not sure which evaluation fits?
Start with a brief conversation about your questions and what kind of assessment may help.
Could an evaluation help me?
- Do everyday tasks take more effort than they seem to for others?
- Do ADHD, autism, anxiety, or trauma each seem to fit a little?
- Has treatment helped, but not as much as you hoped?

Assessment rooted in today's science, not yesterday's assumptions.
Many diagnostic models were built around narrow populations and outdated assumptions. We use current research and look at the whole person. The diagnostic frameworks most practices still use were built on populations that excluded women, people of color, and gender-diverse individuals - and on concepts of conditions that research has since substantially revised. We do it differently.
Grounded in current literature
Our assessment tools and reasoning reflect current research across neurodevelopmental, psychiatric, and cognitive conditions. Our tools, interpretive frameworks, and diagnostic reasoning reflect where the science actually is today - not where it was in 1990. We stay current on evolving research across ADHD, autism, mood disorders, trauma, and neurocognitive conditions, and we update our practice accordingly.
Challenging outdated diagnostic models
We question narrow ideas about how conditions are “supposed to” look and follow the evidence instead. We actively question legacy ideas about how conditions are "supposed to" present - not just for neurodivergence, but for mood disorders, personality diagnoses, trauma responses, and cognitive decline. We don't fit people into old categories. We follow the evidence, even when it complicates the picture.
Rigorous and individualized
Each evaluation is tailored to your questions, history, and presentation—not a one-size-fits-all battery.Evidence-based doesn't mean impersonal. Every evaluation is built around your specific questions, history, and presentation - not a standard battery applied the same way to everyone. We combine scientific rigor with genuine clinical curiosity to understand your unique profile.
People of Color, Women, AFAB, and Gender-Diverse People Are Routinely Overlooked.
Diagnostic research and practice were built around a narrow population - and it shows. People of color, women, AFAB and gender-diverse people are more likely to be missed, misdiagnosed, or dismissed. Race, culture, and masking all shape how ADHD and autism are recognized; we look at the whole person.
Who this affects and what we do differentlyJustice-Oriented Care
Assessment can reproduce bias when culture, identity, and systemic harm are ignored. We provide affirming care grounded in social justice, cultural humility, and respect for the whole person.Psychological assessment has historically been used as a tool of oppression: to pathologize, exclude, and control. At AnchorPoint Assessments, we practice from a framework of social justice, cultural humility, and anti-oppression. We believe every client deserves care that honors their full humanity, accounts for the systems they navigate, and never mistakes the wound of injustice for a disorder of the mind.

Black Lives
We affirm that Black lives matter and recognize the harm of anti-Black bias in healthcare and psychology. Our assessments center cultural context and avoid pathologizing responses to systemic oppression. We unequivocally affirm that Black lives matter. We recognize the deep and ongoing harm caused by anti-Black racism within healthcare and the field of psychology, including diagnostic bias, overdiagnosis of certain conditions in Black children, and the chronic underrepresentation of Black clinicians. Our assessments are grounded in cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed practice that centers Black experiences and resists pathologizing responses to systemic oppression.

Indigenous Sovereignty & Land Back

We reject colonial assessment practices and commit to respectful care.We acknowledge that this practice operates on stolen Indigenous land and stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples' ongoing struggles for sovereignty, treaty rights, and Land Back. We reject the colonial frameworks that historically weaponized psychological assessment against Indigenous communities, including the forced assimilation justifications built into early intelligence testing. We honor the diversity of Indigenous nations and are committed to respectful assessment practices.
LGBTQIA+ Affirming
We provide affirming assessment for LGBTQIA+ people across identities and expressions. We honor lived experience and consider minority stress, discrimination, and healthcare trauma.AnchorPoint Assessments is a fully affirming practice for all LGBTQIA+ individuals across every age, identity, and expression. We use inclusive and respectful language, honor the wide diversity of queer and trans experience, and understand the particular stressors, including minority stress, family rejection, structural discrimination, and healthcare trauma, that may shape the assessment context.

Disability Justice
Disability is a natural part of human variation. Our assessments identify needs and strengths in ways that respect disabled people, support autonomy, and challenge ableist systems. We embrace a disability justice framework that centers the leadership and wisdom of disabled people, especially those at the intersections of multiply marginalized identities. Disability is a natural part of human variation. Our evaluations aim to identify needs and strengths in ways that empower clients and challenge ableist systems.

Complimentary Parking

Use the parking lots, not the meters
There are two parking lots within easy walking distance of the office - please use one of those rather than street meters. Meters cap you at two hours at a time, which doesn't work well for a longer assessment. Lot parking is always on us - pre-paid ahead of your session and covers the full duration.
How to submit your license plate
After scheduling your appointment, you will receive an email with a secure form to submit your license plate number. No need to call or email it separately.
Marked lots are available for your visit. Please avoid street parking.
